WHEREAS, Zone 6 is a new route created to serve Iram resettlement area;

WHEREAS, upon operating for sometime, it has been observed by drivers and operators of that route that there is a need to replace frequently parts of their motor vehicles due to regular wear and tear more than the regular tricycle for hire operating in the lowland or flat areas;

WHEREAS, due to the insistent demand of the driver-operators, the committee on transportation conducted a public hearing sometime in December 17, 2004 at Iram Resettlement area;

WHEREAS, residents of that area understand the plight of the driver-operators and have agreed to consider an increase in the fare of tricycles to meet the demand of increase cost of operation and rising cost of spare parts and gasoline;

WHEREAS, in consideration of this increase, the driver-operators also promised to serve the residents of Iram regularly and safely;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Cynthia G. Cajudo, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:

ORDINANCE NO. 20
(Series of 2005)

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE INCREASE OF TRICYCLE
FOR HIRE FARE AT IRAM RESETTLEMENT-ZONE 6 FROM
FIVE (PHP5.00) TO SIX (PHP6.00) PER PASSENGER

BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. All tricycles for hire in the Iram Resettlement Area shall adhere to this order.

SECTION 2. That, charging more that Six (PhP6.00) per passenger shall be a violation of this Ordinance, provision of penalties of Ordinance No. 32, Series of 2001 under the citation system shall be adopted.

SECTION 3. That paying of Three Hundred Pesos (PhP300.00) for the application of fare increase is hereby suspended.

SECTION 4. That provision of this ordinance contrary to any existing ordinance of the city supersedes those provisions.

SECTION 5. That copies of this ordinance shall be provided all law enforcement agencies in the city for their information and guidance.

SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
