WHEREAS, Tourism has become a springboard of success for social and economic activities all throughout the world. With the number of travelers that are progressively increasing, many countries have resorted to international and domestic tourism as its straightforward income source;

WHEREAS, in the Philippines, many provinces, cities and towns have endeavored to create various festivals that are eventually anticipated by many travelers each year;

WHEREAS, to adopt an appropriate, effective and cost efficient Annual City Tourism Activities will indeed contribute in boosting local tourism and as such will establish a continual source of income for the City, the business sector, and other constituents.

NOW, THEREFORE, on joint motion of Councilors Gina G. Perez and Teodoro D. Del Rosario, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

Be it resolved, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to enact the following ordinance:

ORDINANCE NO. 36

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE PROPOSED OLONGAPO CITY ANNUAL TOURISM ACTIVITIES FOR CELEBRATION EACH YEAR

BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. With an end result of boosting the economic condition of the business industry in Olongapo City through domestic tourism, the 2005 Annual City Tourism Activities attached herewith is hereby adopted and will be celebrated each year in the City of Olongapo.

SECTION 2. The Office of the City Mayor, City Tourism Council, City Tourism Office, Department of Education and Vicarial Offices shall spearhead all preparations and programs of the aforementioned events.

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
