RESOLUTION NO. 49
(Series of 2004)

A RESOLUTION FAVORABLY ENDORSING THE HOLDING OF THE KRISTONG HARI FESTIVAL IN THE CITY OF OLONGAPO ON NOVEMBER 20-21, 2004


WHEREAS, it has been the paramount aim of Kristong Hari Festival to indoctrinate the parishioners on spirituality and the love for the Holy Eucharist, to inspire them to strengthen true devotion to Christ the King, and to unite the different parishes of the vicariate of Olongapo City;

WHEREAS, the annual celebration of the Solemnity of Christ the King in 2001 as a vicariate gathering in the Diocese of Iba has obtained immense support and an unprecedented diocesan –wide participation by delegates from Olongapo City, Subic Bay Freeport Zone and the Province of Zambales;

WHEREAS, the donations gathered annually help sustain the missions and commitments of a particular parish as the intended beneficiary, and this year’s celebration will launch a thorough fund-raising drive to provide the initial income for the establishment of the Bahay Pari Retirement Home;

WHEREAS, a grand plan of activities for the forthcoming event on November 2004 has been lined-up which includes Celebration of the Grand Eucharist and Street Festival among many others;

WHEREAS, the City Government of Olongapo, focused on the promotion of true brotherhood, mutual understanding, friendship and charity for his fellowmen, rouses its citizenry to support the Kristong Hari Festival;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Angelina B. Andrada, with the unanimous accord of the Sangguniang Panlungsod members present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to endorse, as it hereby endorses the holding of the Kristong Hari Festival in the City of Olongapo on November 20-21, 2004.
