MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SESSION OF THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD OF OLONGAPO, HELD ON MARCH 17, 2004

Call to Order

City Vice-Mayor and Presiding Officer Cynthia G. Cajudo called the session to order at 4:10 in the afternoon.


Roll Call

With eleven (11) Members and the Presiding Officer present, a quorum was declared.


Reading and Adoption of Minutes

On motion of Councilor Gregorio M. Elane, the body adopted the minutes of its Regular Sessions held last February 26 and March 3, 2004 one after the other.



Communications and Referrals of Business

First Reading:

1. Draft Resolution No. 2004 – R-22 – A Resolution Requesting Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo To Intercede With Both Houses Of Congress, Department Of Finance (DOF) And The Department Of Budget And Management (DBM)


For The Release Of The Rightful Share Of Olongapo City For CYs 1994 – 1998 Pursuant To Republic Act No. 7227 Otherwise Entitled “Bases Conversion And Development Act Of 1992”. Unanimous.

8. Copy of Resolution No. 4, Series of 2004 of Barangay Old Cabalan, entitled, “A Resolution Appropriating The Amount Of PhP49,870.00 For The Purchase Of Medicine For The Health Center Of Barangay Old Cabalan.” (Referred to the Committees on Appropriations and Health)

2. A Resolution Expressing Sympathies And Melancholies To The Bereaved Family Of Former City Vice Mayor Hon. Alfredo T. De Perio, Jr. Unanimous.

3.A Resolution Repealing Resolution No. 4, Series of 2003, Entitled, “A Resolution Renaming E-24th Street, East Bajac-Bajac, Olongapo City To “Ferdinand M. Aristorenas (FMA) Street”. Unanimous.

B. Before the approval of a Resolution Beseeching The President Of The Republic Of The Philippines, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo To Look Into The Appointments of Mr. Jaime L. Mendoza And Mr. Edralino P. Cajudo As Members Of The Board Of Directors Of The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Representing The Former U.S. Naval Base Workers And Effect The Law That Provides The Performance OF Their Official Functions, the Presiding Officer, Cynthia G. Cajudo relinquished the Chair to Councilor Gregorio M. Elane and abstained from voting on the said resolution, thus the above-mentioned resolution was approved by majority decision of the body.
