RESOLUTION NO. 65
(Series of 2004)

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY MAYOR, HONORABLE JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR AND IN BEHALF OF OLONGAPO CITY WITH BAYAN TELECOMMUNICATIONS INCORPORATED (BAYANTEL) REGARDING INTERNET ACCESS
AND DIGITAL SUBSCRIBER LINES (DSL) AND
LIKEWISE RATIFYING THE SAME


WHEREAS, Bayan Telecommunications Incorporated (BayanTel) is one of the country’s leading provider of data and communications services such as dedicated domestic and international leased lines, frame relay services, internet access and other managed data services like the Digital Subscriber Lines (DSL);


WHEREAS, with BayanTel’s strengthened capability to provide a full range of Internet services to customers, including co-location, e-mail hosting, web-hosting and firewalls and all the time fast and reliable connectivity, the City deems it best that availing the said internet access and digital subscriber lines of BayanTel will complement its thrusts in providing excellent services to its constituents;


NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Noel Y. Atienza, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it hereby authorizes City Mayor. Honorable James Gordon Jr., to enter into a contract for and in behalf of Olongapo City with Bayan Telecommunications Incorporated (BayanTel) regarding internet access and digital subscriber lines (DSL).

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that the said signed contract be ratified to pave way for its implementation.

RESOLVED FINALLY, AS IT IS HEREBY FINALLY RESOLVED, that a copy of the said contract be made as an integral part of this Resolution.

Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished Mr. Allan Y. Cerrero, Area Account Manager-Data Services, Bayantel Central Luzon for his information and record.
