A RESOLUTION CREATING A TRUST FUND ACCOUNT UNDER THE NAME ROAD FUND DISBURSEMENT ACCOUNT FOR THE CITY’S SHARE
IN THE COLLECTION OF ROAD USER’S TAXES
PURSUANT TO REPUBLIC ACT 8794


WHEREAS, Republic Act 8794, otherwise known as the “Motor Vehicle User’s Charges”, provides provinces and cities five percent (5%) share in the collections of road user’s taxes, the same to be distributed on the basis of the size of roadside works and vehicle population in each province and city;

WHEREAS, Olongapo City received a cogent information that the City is one of the fifty (50) cities whose work program for the utilization of Special Local Roads Funds (SLRF) had been approved by the Road Board for funding;

WHEREAS, pursuant to the implementing Rules and Regulations of the said Act, the City was advised to open a separate trust account under the name Road Fund Disbursement Account from which the 2004 share as well as subsequent shares of the road fund shall be deposited;

WHEREAS, the City deems that it is in the best interest of the City that such account be opened for and in behalf of the City;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Edwin J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sanggniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to create, as it hereby creates a trust fund account under the name Road Fund Disbursement Account for the City’s share in the collection of road user’s taxes pursuant to Republic Act 8794.
