RESOLUTION NO. 70
(Series of 2004)

A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING DEEPEST APPRECIATION TO MS. KAZUE ABE AND MS. YOSHIKO INAGAKI FOR THE SERVICES THEY HAVE EXTENDED AS VOLUNTEER JAPANESE LANGUAGE TEACHERS UNDER THE CAREGIVER PROJECT BETWEEN THE CITY OF OLONGAPO AND CLUB TOURISM INTERNATIONAL, INC., WHICH HAVE GREATLY BENEFITED THE CAREGIVER STUDENTS OF THE GORDON COLLEGE AS WELL AS A NUMBER OF GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES

WHEREAS, the City Government of Olongapo through then City Mayor Katherine H. Gordon and Club Tourism International, Inc. represented by Chairman Hideo Takashi entered into a Memorandum of Agreement for the implementation of the “Caregivers’ Project” at the Gordon College;

WHEREAS, considering the fertile opportunity of the caregiver market in Japan, the said project endeavors to teach the Japanese language and culture to caregiver students of Gordon College, improve their communication skills and understanding of Japanese retirees;

WHEREAS, Sensei Kazue Abe and Sensei Yoshiko Inagaki are two of the volunteer Japanese teachers who diligently taught the students the Japanese language as well as its culture and extended their teaching services as well to a number of government employees;

WHEREAS, the City Government and the people of Olongapo acknowledge their contributions and service to the said undertaking which indeed fostered friendship and goodwill;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Marey Beth D. Marzan, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to express, as it hereby expresses deepest appreciation to Ms. Kazue Abe and Ms. Yoshiko Inagaki for the services they have extended as volunteer Japanese language teachers under the Caregivers’ Project between the City of Olongapo and Club Tourism International, Inc., which have greatly benefited the caregiver students of the Gordon College as well as a number of government employees.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished Ms. Kazue Abe and Ms. Yoshiko Inagaki for their information and record.
